Hello, book clan!
Hope you’re all having Sunday. This is Speedy Quote Sunday. Here are a few quotes from book that have really stuck with me.
“The worst part of holding the memories is not the pain. It’s the loneliness of it. Memories need to be shared.” (The Giver, Lois Lowry)
My heartstrings yanked at this one. Some of my best memories are with those I love dearly like my mom and my best friend. Without them, it’s just me, alone. Sharing those memories keeps me connected to them as well as the world. Like I’ve left a fingerprint in important places: other people’s lives.
“A life without love is like a year without summer.” (Love & Gelato, Jenna Evans Walsh)
Summer is my favorite season with autumn right behind it. I live for hot weather and don’t care if I break a sweat. So to live without summer? I could never. But, in comparison to love? At almost 26, I have yet to fall in love. It’s a scary idea honestly. I don’t reject the idea, but it’s just not happened. Not yet. If the way I live now is like not having summer then I look forward to having my summer one day. Whenever it comes.
“Fuckstockings, truth is a surly shrew sometimes!” (Fool, Christopher Moore)
Sometimes, this is just how it feels. You try not to feel this way, but you just can’t help it. It just comes out and then suddenly you feel better. It’s okay to laugh afterward. Laughter helps the heart.
More to come soon…
